The Robson Redux Competition is an annual event in its fourth year, which aims to transform the iconic 800 block of Robson Street (between the Vancouver Art Gallery and Law Courts) into a vibrant and pedestrian friendly space for the summer.  We collaborated with the talented Amelia Sullivan, Intern Landscape Architect, for our entry entitled REVEAL. PAUSE. CONNECT.

We’re proud of our concept, which transforms the full downtown block with colour, nature, playful elements for children, and lots of space for sitting back and people watching.  The design was a nod to the inspired work of landscape architect Cornelia Oberlander and architect Arthur Erickson, and incorporated sightlines intended to frame views, and also to lead passersby on paths of discovery to hidden wonders within the site. The project is now featured in our online portfolio under ‘Commercial Projects‘.

Kudos to the winning team with their ‘Urban Reef‘ proposal which has just been installed, and should be enjoyed through to Labour Day 2014!
